Cut cake / Sweet cake/ a tea time snack. This cake recipe is one of a kind in taste and will be loved by people of all ages, especially your kids. The recipe for making the tea snack is very easy. The ingredients for this recipe will be easily available in everyone’s kitchen. The perfect evening snack to refresh your taste buds with hot tea.
Here, I have cut slightly in order to attract kids. It is usually cut large in size. It came out too good with crispy outside and soft inside.
INGREDIENTS
Egg - 3
Sugar - 250gram
All purpose flour(maida) - 1/2kg
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Baking soda- 1 pinch
Salt - 1 pinch
Oil - for deep fry
∆∆
Take a blender add egg, sugar, cardamom powder, baking soda, salt . Blend all the ingredients and pour the batter into a bowl. Then add all purpose flour (maida), Put a little at a time. Mix well until combined. Knead gently form a smooth dough (If the dough is sticky, add 1 or 2 tbsp more all purpose flour). Keep aside for 5 to 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into 2 equal portions. Shape the dough into a square shape( heavily 1/2in) and then Tilt and cut in to square piece. Make a tilt cut on each piece at the centre ( Do not cut to the bottom).
Heat enough oil to deep fry the cake in a heavy bottomed deep pan on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to low ( Make sure that oil is not too hot, then outside of the cake burns earlier and the inner dough will not be cooked). fry each piece in low-medium heat until golden brown. Make sure not to over fry the cake as it will become very hard to eat.
Cool completely and store in a dry air-tight container for up to 2-3 weeks and use as needed.
Serve with hot tea/ coffee!!
