INGREDIENTS
FOR MASALA PASTE
Green cardamom - 1/3 cup
Mint leaves - 1/3 cup
green chilli - 3 - 4
Coconut oil - 1 tbsp
Water - 1 tbsp
Salt - as needed
FOR COOKING
Prawns - 1 cup
Coconut oil - 4 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Garlic - 2 tsp
Ginger paste - 2 tsp
Dry red chilli - 3
Shallots - 1 cup (sliced)
Tomato - 1/2 cup (sliced)
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Pepper powder - 1 tbsp
Cocount milk - 1/2 cup
Salt - for taste
PREPARING METHOD
STEP 1
Wash the prawns by adding some salt and turmeric powder. Then drain the water completely from the prawns.
STEP 2
WE CAN PREPARE THE MASALA PASTE FOR THE PRAWNS.
∆ Take a mixer grinder, add green cardamom, mint leaves, green chilli, coconut oil, water and salt.
∆ Then grind it well together until it turns to a fine and thick paste.
COOKING METHOD
STEP 1
Take a heavy bottommed kadai, heat coconut oil and add mustard seeds, when the seeds crackle, add the ginger, garlic and dry red chilli, saute on a medium flame.
STEP 2
Then add shallots, turmeric powder and salt saute well till onion turns transparent. Then add tomato and saute well.
STEP 3
Then add pepper powder and add the cardamom paste(masala paste prepared earlier) and mix well.
STEP 4
Then add prawns, mix well and cook until the prawns are approx cooked.
STEP 5
Then add coconut milk (thick consistency) and mix well. Boil for 7-10 minutes or till prawns is cooked completely.
Serve with chapati and rice !
